Stefan Dombrowski, Ph.D. is the clinical director and founder of Children's Center for Psychological Assessment & Development. Dr. Dombrowski is one of the world's top experts in the psychological assessment of children with more than 20 years of clinical, research and teaching experience about youth development and psychological assessment.
Dr. Dombrowski has published extensively on child assessment and development with four books and over 75 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He was recently rated as one of the top dozen researchers in his field.* Dr. Dombrowski is licensed as a psychologist and certified as a school psychologist in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. For the past 20 years Dr. Dombrowski has conducted clinical, forensic, and psychoeducational evaluations for various school districts, hospitals, and community agencies. Dr. Dombrowski completed a post doctoral fellowship in clinical child psychology at the University of California, Davis Medical Center (Children's Hospital) and his Ph.D. in school psychology with a minor in counseling psychology at the University of Georgia. While at UC Davis Medical Center, Dr. Dombrowski was trained in psychotherapy as well as the psychological and forensic assessment of youth at UC Davis' internationally recognized CAARE Clinic. He is recognized as an expert in both California and New Jersey family courts where he has been involved in child welfare and termination of parental rights cases.
Dr. Dombrowski is a Professor and Director of Training at Rider University's graduate program in School Psychology. Dr. Dombrowski's graduate program in School Psychology at Rider was recently rated as the fifth most scholarly productive program in the country out of over 130 programs nationwide. He was recognized by Rider University with the distinguished research professor award in 2011, and is an elected member of the prestigious Society for the Study of School Psychology. Over the past two decades Dr. Dombrowski has trained more than 160 graduate students in child psychology. Dr. Dombrowski has also served as a visiting research professor at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Dombrowski lives in Southern New Jersey with his wife and two children. He has enjoyed coaching his children in a variety of athletic activities including soccer and tennis. Dr. Dombrowski's hobbies include tennis, travel, remaining active, conducting research on children's assessment matters, and spending time with his family.
